What a week we had in Italy!
At Once Sport, we believe in the power of sports video analysis, and its ability to elevate teams to new heights. Recently, we got a chance to embark on a thrilling trip to Italy, where we immersed ourselves in sports events, presented Once Video Analyser and Once Autocam to potential clients, and strengthened bonds with friends and partners.

Basketball Clinic in Turin
We set off to Torino to attend the prestigious International Basketball Clinic, organized by Lega Basket Serie A. It was organized as a part of the Final Eight weekend of the Italian league, and it was a massive event.
The two-day clinic featured esteemed speakers such as Sergio Scariolo, the head coach of the Spanish national team; Terry Stotts, an NBA coach from 2002 to 2022; and George Dikeoulakos, the head coach of Famila Schio and the Slovenian women’s team.
Over the two days of the clinic, we met many people from the basketball world. We also had the opportunity to introduce them to our software, Once Video Analyser. We enjoyed meeting Terry Stotts, who was an NBA Head Coach for 11 years, leading the Portland Trail Blazers, Atlanta Hawks, and Milwaukee Bucks, and Roberto di Lorenzo, National Advisor at the Italian Basketball Federation and President of the USAP Basketball Coaches Union.
We especially enjoyed the lecture of George Dikeoulakos, a real serial winner and the new Italian league champion (Congratulations!). He did an excellent job demonstrating different offensive strategies through the analysis of various clips using Once Video Analyser.
A visit to Paolo Beruatta of Juventus
Following the clinic, we visited the Juventus Academy, meeting long-time user Paolo Beruatta. Paolo, a key figure in individual training for U15, U16, and U17, expressed enthusiasm for potential collaborations and improvements to our software.
While currently used by Paolo, we’re eager about the possibility of presenting our software to the whole video analysis department. Exciting talk!
A matchday experience with Lorenzo Folle of Sampdoria
After three wonderful days in Turin, it was time to head south to visit Genoa, where our user Lorenzo Folle resides. Lorenzo is an assistant coach and a video analyst for the U18 team of Sampdoria. For the past 7 years, he has worked as a coach and analyst for various age groups at Sampdoria. He even spent some time with the first team.
With the introduction of the new U18 age category, Lorenzo took on the role of assistant coach. We discussed how Lorenzo uses our program, focusing on the functionalities he finds most useful. Also, we listened to some of his suggestions for program improvements, which we will certainly consider for future updates.
We also talked about different methods of game recording and various types of wide-angle cameras. It seems that Once Autocam proves to be the perfect option for Lorenzo. We are looking forward to the chance of implementing it in his work.
During our visit, Sampdoria had a match against Lecce, with Sampdoria playing as the host at their stadium in Bogliasco. Lorenzo invited us to attend the game, and we couldn’t refuse. While we enjoyed the sunshine watching the match, the Sampdoria team fought hard on the field. They secured a significant 2-0 victory against Lecce.
After the match, we conducted a brief interview with Lorenzo Folle. In this interview, we learned about his workflow on match days and throughout the week, as well as the differences in video analysis between youth teams and the first team.

2 years of partnership with Massimo Lucchesi of Allenatore.net
In the picturesque town of Lucca, we met Massimo Lucchesi, a valued collaborator turned friend. Over a delightful dinner with red wine and local cheese, we discussed plans for expanding our collaboration to webinars on Allenatore.net. These webinars would be featuring coaches as guests to discuss football topics and specific Once Video Analyser functionalities.
They will be available on the Allenatore.net website, so we advise you to start following them to stay updated and not miss out on valuable information.
Rugby presentation in Treviso
Our journey concluded in Treviso, where we were hosted by the Villorba Rugby Club. We’d like to send special thanks to Roberto Foglia for organizing the event. Roberto, an excellent coach, proved to be an incredible person by not limiting the presentation to just the Villorba Rugby coaches. He invited all coaches and analysts in the surrounding areas to learn about Once Video Analyser!
There were a total of 18 coaches from Treviso and the surrounding areas in attendance. The interactive presentation showcased Once Video Analyser’s capabilities in both football and rugby. Participants had the opportunity to go through all of the program functionalities such as tagging, drawing, tracking, exporting, multiple analyses, live analysis, and creating exercises in tactics and training.
We also discussed Once Autocam, which once again proved to be an excellent option for recording and discussing the flow of the game, not only in football but also in rugby.
Our presentation was followed by an amazing culinary experience to cap off our Italian adventure.
